Years ago, I was looking for a CHRISTmas tree and bought one; took it home, cut the bottom about an inch, watered and decorated it. After two days it was dead. Dead! Undecorated the tree and threw it out. Went shopping around again and saw a sign that read, "displayed in water" and that's how I discovered Craig Hollman's CHRISTmas Tree lot and went there every year until I moved to the southeast. Wish they delivered cross country. Their trees lasted well into the new year and continued putting out new growth. It was hard to toss them so I'd keep them up until about mid January. The longest I kept one was the end of January and even then, i didn't want to discard it because it was still putting out new growth and the smell was incredible. Their trees were the best! The people were very friendly and accommodating and delivery was on the spot every time. They followed me to my apartment, carried it upstairs and set it up. All I had to do was decorate. The Noble fir trees were my preference because they were sturdy and usually looked for one with sparse branches because they allowed for large ornaments and visually, you could see decorations all around, Hollman had a variety to choose from. Unfortunately, in the southeast you can find them so I'm resigned to fake trees--hate it. If you live in the central valley, Hollman CHRISTmas trees is the way to go. Really, really miss them and their Noble firs. Heavy sigh.
