Gojko Curovic was contracted to work on our Basement and bathroom there. He gave us quote for the Basement, bathroom, main kitchen and main bathroom. He started working in the Basement end of August this year. He told us that basement be done in 1-2 weeks and then he will proceed to the kitchen. We asked to sign the contract several times but he kept pushing it away and started the work. We were new to this kind of work and home improvement projects. We trusted him since he was very friendly and professional. He came on time with 2 other workers. After a week of work he got rid of one of this workers. We were not clear of that reasons for that. Then he told us about his wife getting into some accident in his country and is critical. He even told us that she needs her legs amputated. We really felt bad for him at that point. We knew he will end up going to see his wife but we’re not clear to his plans. Just few days before he left here, told us that he is flying to his country. He started rushing his work. He left late from here the day before his flight to just give us “ so called finished work.” He asked for a the remaining payment and we gave it to him due to his situation and with the promise of him returning in 2 weeks to finish his work. We knew he won’t be back in 2 weeks and gave him more than 2 months to respond. We even tried messaging him during that 2 weeks to know about this wife with no response. Later on his phone was disconnected. We were waiting for him to complete his work in right manner. His finishing work didn’t look neat. There were grouts all over bathroom tiles. Shower door was not aligned and sealed properly. Grout work around vanity looks very messy. Vanity sink pipes were plastic and looked cheap. We even noticed leaking from it later on. He didn’t create the shelves for the bathroom as planned. Basement pipes for heating system started leaking once we turned the heat on. We had him install new baseboard for heating system but he never even tested it. He left the side of stairs undone. Left gap below stairs without the flooring. Paint job looked like a mess too. We were very disappointed with this but wanted him to come back and finish. We still have not heard anything from him. We are beyond disappointed and disgusted. We would never recommend him to anyone.
