2019 Honest Review of Adoption Star (current client for 3 1/2 years): Absolute scamming and dishonest agency - prospective adoptive parents please beware. Adoption Star has really gone down the drain in the last 3 years. They used to be a caring supportive agency with good communication. They bit off more than they could chew since then, opening up a new office that remains severely understaffed and then expanding to other states because they have virtually no birth mothers to profile. My husband and I have been with them for over three years and they call us with **4-6** possibilities a year. We have an extremely open grid but our family "advocate" Shannon Whalen is consistently rude, condescending, and dismissive any time we try to share concerns and ask for support. Numerous clients have complained about her, just read the other reviews. Please don't make the same mistake as us with such an important decision - look somewhere else to help build your family and offer your hard-earned money. We don't have enough money to go somewhere else now so we're stuck with them for a while and no hope anything will happen. Be warned: Adoption Star cares about one thing, and one thing only: $$$. Their official slogan is they don't find "babies for families, they find families for babies". Adoption Star, if you're reading this, consider going back to your original values. Right now your real slogan should be you don't even find babies - you hunt and prey on people for their money to fund your salaries and failing business.
